Exchange Detroit LLC, working with company Barton Malow and subsidiary LIFTbuild, is developing a 16-story residential tower on Gratiot and Brush. The building, which will contain 153 apartments along with 12 condo units, is being built from the top down using a proprietary system: each floor plate is constructed at ground level and lifted up into place. The $64.6M development received a $4.6M brownfield tax incentive. Construction began in September 2021 and the anticipated completion date is spring 2023.
