Developer CRES QOZB, LLC, led by John Chu, is planning to construct two multifamily buildings on the property at Townsend and Lafayette in Islandview, including 12 studio and 12 one-bedroom apartments, with several units designated as affordable at 60-80% area median income. A rezoning from R2 to R3 was approved in late 2020 and developers were seeking $252,000 in tax abatements for the $3.9 million project in 2021. Construction was underway in late 2021.
