A 34,000-square-foot-development, featuring the Detroit People's Food Co-op, a full-service cooperatively owned grocery store, is expected to open in summer 2023. The second floor will contain incubator kitchens and offices for the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network. DBCFSN signed a purchase agreement for the city-owned property in 2021. The project has received about $2 million in public funding.
